Walter’s Reed 100th Birthday Celebration
The Spirit of Liberty Foundation produced the Walter Reed Military Medical Center’s 100th Birthday Celebration for the staff and troops, including arranging all of the food, entertainment, and gifts.
The event featured a dramatic skydive exhibition onto the hospital’s lawn by Dana Bowman, a famous Golden Knight, who lost both his legs in a military incident. Dana unfurled a 1,000 square foot American Flag, inspiring the Wounded Warriors, including several wheelchair-bound veterans, who watched from the lawn. This was the first private aircraft to enter Washington, D.C. airspace since 9/11, and the event garnered national media coverage.
