SOLF

The Spirit of Liberty Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was originally formed to raise funds and to assist in the restoration and maintenance of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. After the restoration was completed, and as a result of 9/11, the Foundation’s mission was changed to support and honor members of the Armed Forces, Veterans, Law Enforcement and their families, through of variety of programs and events each year. These programs include an annual “Operation Christmas Miracle: The Believe in Santa Tour,” The Crossing of America Tour, America’s Freedom Bell’s Patriots Tour, and a variety of special other events–all supported by generous patriotic donors.

1. Crossing of America National Tour

The Crossing of America raises awareness and support for America’s Real Heroes: our Armed Forces, Veterans and their Families. The Tour begins aboard the deck of the USS Midway in San Diego Harbor and concludes on the deck of the USS Intrepid in New York Harbor. Two official Spirit of Liberty Jeeps™ are driven nearly 20,000 miles through 44 States and the District of Columbia during the 105-day trip and generates over $40 million of local and National media coverage.

 

 

Various figures in government, entertainment, sports and media personalities participate in The Tour. During our most recent trip, thirty-nine Governors and Presidents including former President George H.W. Bush personally participated in the Crossing of America Tour. As well as over 1,500 Fallen Hero Families and 3,000 Wounded Warriors and their families. Others who participate and have previously participated in the Tour include Medal of Honor recipients, actors like Harrison Ford, professional athlete Sugar Ray Leonard, and numerous celebrities.

 

2. Operation Christmas Miracle – The Believe in Santa Tour 

This trip brings Santa Claus and the Spirit of Christmas to our heroes serving in Combat and those who are wounded for programs and ceremonies. The Spirit of Liberty Foundation’s Santa wears a custom America’s Santa suit designed with official Army camouflage. He visits military hospitals and bases worldwide, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, military bases in Europe and even Guantanamo Bay.

 

 

The Foundation’s Santa began his first visit to Kuwait and Iraq tour during the holiday season at the invitation of the former Commanding General in Iraq, Gen. David Perkins. America’s Santa personally brings  personally signed greeting cards from governors and members of Congress as tokens of appreciation for the troops. These include gifts donated by over 70 U.S. Senators including Senators Harry Reid and John McCain, and leading professional athletes and leagues from Drew Brees and Kobe Bryant and others from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NASCAR, and the PGA.

 

3. America’s Freedom Bell – 2015

America’s Freedom Bell was conceived on May 15th, 2013 cast on June 6th, 2013, the 69th Anniversary of D-Day with full Military Honors. America’s Freedom Bell contains metal from the 9/11 Twin Towers certified by the New York Fire Commissioner. America’s Freedom Bell was cast by the world-renowned and America’s premier Bell Foundry, The Verdin Company, which has been family-owned since 1842.

America’s Freedom Bell has the Official Emblem of each branch of the Armed Forces embossed and circling the Bell in the order of their founding: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and the Coast Guard, and is inscribed with the words: HONORING OUR ARMED FORCES PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE, and has 50 Stars representing the Nation, on the Bell’s lip.

America’s Freedom Bell has been at: World War II Memorial on the National Mall in Washington D.C., Memorial Day Weekend Ceremonies, Independence Hall where the Freedom Bell was unveiled on Flag Day on June 14 and also the Birthday of the Army, U.S.S. Midway in San Diego on Independence Day, The World War II Memorial in New York on the Anniversary of 9/11, Arlington National Cemetery for Veterans Day Ceremonies, Hawaii, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremonies, Indy 500 Events,  Army/Navy Football Game and numerous other high profile Ceremonies and events. 

Every American is invited to ring America’s Freedom Bell in honor of a family member or friend who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces, or to say thank you in support of our Troops!

 

4. American Warrior Brands

American Warrior Brands™ is a consumer products company founded to provide meaningful jobs and income for members of our Armed Forces who have been wounded in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. American Warrior Brands’™ mission is to fill the majority of our company’s positions — from clerical to management — with wounded veterans who have the skills for, or can be trained to perform the positions required by, our company.

A team of American Heroes and wounded in combat veterans, “The First Team,” has been created to be spokespeople, brand ambassadors, and marketers for American Warrior Brands™. This team consists of service members wounded in combat who are now living across the Nation, and who work with the media to visually present and embody the mission of the company.

    Dear Rovsek family and staff I’ve taken care of war veterans from Vietnam; World War Two; Afghanistan along with my best friend and employer Alicia Chancellor of SAS Chancellor Independent Living Home housing civilian and ptsd war veterans with mental health issues and I’ve worked for her as house manager and housekeeper for an veteran lady Hedy Feldman and have dedicated my life and being son and step-grandson of war veterans and have wrote and collected memrobilia of war veterans photos and letters and have visited and gave money too sounded warrior project.
